The guidebooks also seem to be seriously lacking and I've missed being able to see forum discussions (although they were not open for new comments by the time I started using Duo you could still see the discussions) as both could be very helpful in getting a total understanding of why your answer was incorrect. But certainly my flow felt very interrupted and while I have continued to progress it's definitely at a much slower pace since I'm simply just. I did feel as though my placement in the new path was off by quite a bit and I did have some frustration that the many gems I spent for legendary had not carried over. I was already doing the recommended method for working the tree so that wasn't too much of a leap for me, thankfully. I'm not at that stage but I have noticed that since getting the update I don't feel quite as engaged.
However, just from this forum alone I do understand where many are coming from with their frustrations and no longer wanting to continue. I'm on day 136 so honestly, I wasn't super married to the old way.
